Starting Over

Yesterday I started wearing my T-Tapes again. I’m determined to make this work somehow this time.

It’s warm, I like to go swimming or hiking as much as possible for exercise, and I like to wear shorts this time of year. All of these make tape really inconvenient. But at least it’s not the middle of summer and so it’s a little cooler than usual here now.

Generally the tape pulls off at some point and hurts my skin. Often times, early in the process like this, the skin will become so irritated that I can’t wear tape or the DTR. I have to let it heal before I can start again. I don’t see any damage to the skin, but it’s there. From what I can tell, it’s not from over-pulling. It has something to do with fresh skin. Later in the process I’d be able to pull as hard as I want and this kind of damage won’t occur. So far I’m doing okay.

My first step will be to wear the tape continuously for about a week or two to see if I can get the skin stretched out to it’s longer version. From that point I guess I’ll either keep wearing the tape or I’ll put the DTR on during the day. Nights will require the tape. Eventually I hope to get to a retainer stage…

I’ll try to keep this blog updated with new posts as often as possible. I guess I don’t even really know if anyone will read it, but at least it should help me as a journal and keep my focus. I hope to share as much as I can through this outlet. You know, no matter who you tell, this is a process you pretty much have to do on your own. I do want everyone to know that, and if anyone ever encourages me, know I’ll really appreciate it. Then I may be able to also encourage others as well.

All for now.
